(http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=10966) Posted by Genghis on 04:06:2001 01:42 AM: With Super Turbo being a game at B5, how am I suppose to practice this game if it can't be found at any arcade? Not even SHGL has it. So if anyone knows a place in SoCal.. or even better, San Diego.. break bread! Posted by Havoc911 on 04:06:2001 02:45 AM: That's a damn good question. The Dreamcast version is cool, but without competition, it's worthless in terms of getting better. I don't know where you can find an arcade with the game, seeing how I live in NYC, all I can say is ask this question in the matchmaking section. Posted by Shinobi on 04:06:2001 02:52 AM: find arcade u can play this arcade, here in my country one arcade called "kabuki" got it, its a chinese site... but im living in argentina and this arcade are in argentina..... lol this arcade got darkslater too. hold game. Posted by Javi on 04:06:2001 03:11 AM: Very few arcades in the US have Super Turbo available. The game is kinda hard to find, and only comes up during tournament season. I'm sure SHGL will put it back up once May rolls around, since all the major tournaments will have ST as one of their featured games. Where can you find competition for the game? Hrm... SHGL will be a spot, once May rolls around... Houston, Texas is another good spot (talk with me if you live in Houston)... Virginia is a good place to play... The ST tournament is usually fueled by the hardcore, old-school players. These guys usually play at home on their cabinets, or they have a little plaing session where it can go for hours. The people in #capcom have a long running joke, saying that you have to be 21 years old to play Super Turbo. However, that age is raised by one year. So in May, you would have to be 22 to be any good at the game. It's just a JOKE, so don't take it seriously. There are some younger players, that are starting to love the game. There is Arturo Sanchez, who likes the game, and is starting to train for it... there is NKI, of http://www.gamecombos.com who has those infamous ToD combos, and others. I once asked Eddie Lee on his performance in ST, and this was his answer: "I can go from A3, to A2, and do decently in that game. But with Super Turbo, I don't know. I just don't understand that game." Posted by LordLocke on 04:06:2001 04:23 AM: Finding good compitition in ST is like the hunt for the holy grail: You'll rarely find any kind of lead, and if you think you've found it, you probably just found some shoddy fake. BTW, I'll be 20 at B5 and plan on unpacking Dee Jay and Vega for it. Not sure how well I'll do since it's been a while since I've even PLAYED the game (2/17 Folsom, to be exact), but hopefully I won't be TOO rust-covered. I hope it'll be one of the last games played so we can have some time to shake off a little rust if we don't happen to be at SHGL or Houston. Chinatown Fair man. Link: Chinatown Fair website Best times to show up is on a Friday, generally you can find some players on the machine. I know for a fact that more people will start to give it more playtime with ECC6, and Midwest tournies coming up...and there you can find the Legendary Furby (Arturo) Posted by Maximum Burst on 04:06:2001 07:59 AM: If anyone ever sees a copy of the arcade unit or b board of Super Turbo or Rainbow Edition for sale anywhere on the web please let me know. Posted by SaBrE on 04:06:2001 01:21 PM: Max: try looking on ebay for the "A" board(cps2 board) and the "B" board. theres usually some up for auction and you can get good prices. and if you are looking for comp, im always game man! just ask and if anyone lives in arizona, we got quite a few players at ST that are good, including myself. we got players like joe "one handed terror of tucson" jennings and geoff arnold(writer for Tips & tricks). and geoff has a cabinet with many cps2 games, including ST. hes also got a cps3 board for 3s practice if anyone needs that too. we can use all the comp we can get Posted by BabiG on 04:06:2001 04:17 PM: If you all are on fast connections, you can use kaillera ( www.kaillera.com )to play Super Turbo online. Not the same thing as an arcade, but you could set up something with a fellow board member beforehand and play it online (fighting games tend to need a fast connection BTW...its not too fun on a modem). Posted by Six-Armed on 04:06:2001 04:58 PM: University Pinball in Philly has it. The competetion isn't great, due to the fact that few people play it, but we have weekly or bi weekly tourneys of ST and it brings out some good players like Henry, Arturo, and Julien. The sticks are in perfect condition with convex buttons. 360 joystick as well. If nothing else Julien is one of the best ST players on EC (or at least the tournement results comfirm) and he's a UP frequent. Posted by kHAoS on 04:06:2001 06:23 PM: If you're looking for SF2:ST, you can always try UCLA's arcade. They have ST and A3 set up there and no one really plays those games anymore.
